Troup Square, Savannah
In the background the Unitarian Universality Church, built in 1851, represents one of the finest Gothic revival buildings in the country. The song originally copyrighted as "One Horse Open Sleigh" and later changed to "Jingle Bells" was penned here in 1857 by then organist James Pierpont Jr. Troup Square, laid out in 1851, is known as "Dog Bone Square" because of the unique cast iron pet water fountain located there. The bronze artillery in the foreground dates from 1871.
